We’re really excited to bring you three unique wines from the most recent Huntress release. These are elegant, concentrated + textural wines from grapes hand-picked from across the Wairarapa region. They’re great food wines, and we’re enjoying the prospect of pairing them with our menu.

Jannine Rickards of Huntress Wines strives “to preserve a sensory connection between whenua + palate.” It’s a beautiful mission and idea to contemplate. What might small parcels of Wairarapa fruit yield when selected deliberately, hand-picked with friends, and handled just so — with such a goal in mind?

Huntress Waikoa White, 2022 ORGANIC
Waikoa means ‘happy waters’. This is a lively, aromatic + textured Sauvignon Blanc with some skin contact. Think tropical fruits with a hint of fennel seed + jalapeño pepper spice.

Huntress Waihonga Amber, 2022
Waihonga or ‘nectar’ is a delicious Pinot Gris with a touch of (ORGANIC) Riesling. A wild, groovy wine that tastes like honey and spice. Dry with zingy acidity + luscious texture !

Huntress Pinot Noir, 2020
Martinborough terrace fruit. Savoury, rich + complex, lovely bright red fruits. That distinctly elegant hint of earthy, wild forest. For Jannine, this was one of the best vintages in years, going back to 2013. Fine grained, silky tannins. This is an exceptional Pinot Noir.
