Last call for 2023 — (Published 23/12/23)
Today (December 23rd, 2023) is our last service for the year, this, our fifth year of Beasty! Phew — it’s a milestone that has packed extra punch after living through a pandemic…(and still trading in the shadow of it). We’re grateful and heartened to be here at 5, seeing locals and visitors alike excited to discover us, and those of you who know us well sending new friends our way, sometimes with emphatic instructions on what to order. The keen as folks who book a table timing their run from the airport to our door, we love your priorities! A huge thank you to all our wonderful patrons and suppliers. Too many to name here, but you know who you are !
This year our dear GM Jen became a mum to baby Joshua and with his arrival we celebrated our first Beasty baby, he’s a gem! We said goodbye to long-standing team members, and welcomed new faces to the team. Led by Kami, Georgia and Craig, training has been a big focus for us Front of House this year. In the kitchen, Stu and Giann interrogated the menu — after five years — what stays, what goes? What has drifted, what is essential, what can be refined, what is new? The pandemic and its labour shortages had a crushing effect on our creativity. We were too tired.
