WE'RE DRINKING: Atípico Wine

Atípico Wine ‘Sundial’ — that bottle ! That colour !

Jordan Hogg of Atípico (and 2016 NZ ‘Young Winemaker of the Year’) makes delicious, minimal intervention organic wines. A family passion project begun in 2021, Atípico showcases the diversity, quality and ‘atypical’ wine stories possible in Marlborough. This is an expression of winegrowing unburdened by convention. Exciting ! We’re thrilled to bring you three vibrant, delicious new releases to try this December:

Atípico ‘Sundial’ 2023 — Field blend Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris ORGANIC

Orange blossom, chamomile, Nana’s freshly baked apple crumble. Citrus + nectarine. Vibrant acidity, super refreshing. Such a fantastic food wine.

Atípico ‘Under the Plum Tree’ 2023 — Field blend 88% Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc ORGANIC

A kaleidoscope of aromas of cherry, raspberry, blood orange + spices. Gentle tannins + a lovely negroni-like bitterness.

Atípico Pinot Noir, 2021 — Single vineyard, Omaka Valley ORGANIC

Complex bergamot, dried lavender + petrichor. Lush dark cherries, plums + cacao. Fine chalky tannins.

Atípico wines are small batch + limited supply :D
